Almost at the heels of iPhone 16 launch, you may be left wondering why you would want one. I can see it now, the only usage I can think of is AI, but that is not a compelling argument for many buyers. It is obvious that there are no unrealistic hardware upgrades expected, but new reports tell us that this particular iPhone may shoot the best video out of all Apple’s iPhones yet.
If you’ve been following the hype train surrounding the new iPhones you’ve probably heard of a tile for a new camera button that is rumored to be included. It seems that will not be the only camera improvement to the iPhone this year with respect to the Thai but does play a big part.
Industry sources say that the iPhone 16 will have the ability to take video recording in 4K 120fps as opposed to the iPhone 15 which is limited to 4K 60fps. As per these reports, this 120 fps mode is not set for slow motion but rather for recording extremely smooth videos. I am sure that guys who play video games with high frame rates will like it.
Also, incorporating an external storage will be useful when shooting in ProRes 4K 120fps. Not only the recording video will change but even QuickTake is progressing from 1080p to clear 4K and we haven’t even started about the camera button.
In all cases the new camera button is a touch plate which has several actions depending on how it is pressed. Some of the different actions the report informs us about are:
- Opening the Camera or another specified app
- Adjusting focus
- Taking a photo
- Recording a video
- Adjusting zoom
- Adjusting exposure
Also, it is believed that the iPhone 16 will allow one to stop and then restart the video recording. It’s about time!
We were told, however, that this is the most dissected iPhone in terms of launch timelines in the history of Apple Inc. The EU, which is a key growth region, is missing out on Apple Intelligence. But the region is getting siphoned several features that other regions are not getting access to, such as third party app stores, NFC payments and changing the default apps.
In addition, it seems that the iPhone 16 will likely be the best phone to buy on the market today. However, it may just not be enough to consider it a worthwhile upgrade, let alone an indispensable one.
