Since there are only a few days left to the launch of the iPhone 16 from Apple, last-minute leaks are clearly an anticlimax as all surprises are anticipated. The latest leak has come in a new article discussing some highlights of the new flagship’s camera features and the touch button on the Apple’s all-new touch-sensitive capture button that is destined to turn the iPhone photo-taking phenomenon around completely.
iPhone 16 Pro: Enhanced Videography Skills
The first piece of news, courtesy of sources close to 9to5Mac, is that the forthcoming iPhone 16 Pro is expected to capture 4k videos at the rate of 120fps. This is actually double what the capture speed of the current iPhone 15 Pro range, which is pegged at 60 fps offers. By doubling the frame rate the recording at the highest resolution on the camera can give effects about 4 times slow when manipulating motion effects.
As per the article, Apple has also been trying out 8K video recording on the iPhone 16 Pro recently. This would help Apple in responding to Samsung which is already ahead of Apple with its Galaxy S24 Ultra, which has incorporated this feature. Nonetheless, the article thinks that Apple may instead reserve the recording for the iPhone 17 Pro series, as this year’s model will probably have a better zoom lens.
Some more information has come to light regarding a new touch-sensitive capture button aimed at the iPhone, which the report speculates could be capable of “mimicking various actions based on how you press or slide it.” A single press of the button will activate the camera application of the device or the one set by the owner. A light press of the button at this point will focus the lens of the camera whilst a hard press will either take the picture or make a video. This substantiates the earlier leaks, adding that zoom or exposure will be controlled by sliding a finger across the button. This will speed up the process of making such modifications as there will be no need to remove your finger from the capture button in order to make such adjustments.
All will be revealed at Apple’s “Glowtime” event, scheduled for Monday, September 9, at 10 a.m. PT. The company is expected to announce four iPhone 16 models and at least two new Apple Watches. We’ll also learn more about “Apple Intelligence,” powered by the company’s new A18 Pro chip.
